Harvinder Malik is a renowned artist and the owner of India’s first entirely culture specific television channel ANDY HARYANA. A double MA in History & Indian Theatre he is best known for the aesthetic promotion of Haryanvi culture through his music videos, films & paintings. He has been heading Swastika Entertainments Pvt. Ltd, a media house since 1996 and A1 News Network Pvt. Ltd. since 2012. He started Haryana's first news and entertainment based sattelite tv channel a1 Tehelka haryana in 2013. He has directed and produced over 3000 telecast episodes that is 1500 hours of air - time in various capacities such as writer, director, producer, editor and presenter. He is a native of Rohtak district in Haryana and is based in Mumbai.
Malik worked with noted Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt as an Assistant Director for the films like Junoon, Sir, Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke, Milan, Tadipar, and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi. He has been associated with television for various broadcast programs like GalaxZee, Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan, Kya Scene Hai!, Kahan Se Kahan Tak, Thriller At 10, Rishtey etc and telefilms.
He has produced Hindi feature film ‘Nange Paon’ recently which is awaiting its release and has been the co - producer of National awarded Haryanavi film ‘Laado’.
He has also Produced/Directed many documentaries/ corporate films and commercials for Govt. and Non Govt. agencies. Some of them are ‘Machhali Paalan - Rozgaar ka Uttam Sadhan’ for Fisheries Department, Haryana; ‘Dharmashetra Kurukshetra’ - A Film on Kurukshetra for KDB, Suryagarhan Mela; ‘Kurukshaetra - A Holy Destination’ and ‘48 Kos Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra’; a documentary in Docu-Drama format ‘Jiske Dhorai Murrah Uska Lamba Turrah’ for Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying , Haryana, ‘Sahkarita Ki Bhavna Sundar Bhavishya Ki Kamna’ for Cooperative Societies, Haryana Govt. He has also made political campaigns like ‘No.1 Haryana’, ‘Aisa Pahli Baar Hua Hai’ for Congress party, ‘4 Saal- Manohar Chhavi’ and campaign for Jannayak Janta Party for 2019 elections etc.
Harvinder Malik is the torchbearer of conceptualisation and presentation of the Haryanvi Folk as Haryanavi Pop and produced several super hit Haryanavi Pop Music Albums like Git Pit-Git Pit, Guturghun, Desi ka Pavva, Dhare Jab Pahuncha England & Top Gear. He also directed many Punjabi Videos like Dhol Jagiron Da, Jis Din Te Soniye Ni, Roop Da Nazara, Sahiban etc. and Hindi Video Albums- ‘Pardesiya’ of Sapna Awasthi, ‘Dhola Re’ of Richa Sharma, ‘Pardesi Pardes Gya’, ‘Mumbaiya No.1’, ‘Dhundhu Mai Sanwariya’ etc.
He is a painter with finesse and possesses a keen eye for culture and tradition of Haryana. Thus his paintings vividly depict the rural life of the state and have been a part of several exhibitions. His admirers and clientele range from the villages in Haryana to London and New York. Chief Minister Office Haryana, Haryana Govt. Offices and Educational institutions are some of the significant collectors from the list.
Harvinder Malik has played a vital role in bringing the dying Haryanvi culture back to life. It is his love for the land which has inspired him to come up with new ideas from time to time. He started the first Online Haryana TV with rediff.com in 2004/05.
On the occasion of Haryana Day 2009, Governor of Haryana honoured him with the ‘Manjeet Bawa State Award’ for his contribution in the field of painting.
